A to Z Challenge: Underwear

This post is part of the April A-Z Blogging Challenge. This year my theme is simply, "things I know." Some posts will be informational, some about life lessons, some about things I've learned as an author/blogger.

Underwear should be sturdy.
I am an active lady. Even when I'm not actually working out or playing outside, I'm moving around. Heck, even when I'm sitting in a meeting, I'm usually squirming a bit! So. Underwear should be something that I can put on in the morning and not think about for the rest of the day. Underwear should not go into cracks (either intentionally or not), slip down, shift, bunch, pinch, pull or sag. It should go on and stay where I put it. And to do that it needs to be a bit sturdy. If I should, for example, decide to go for a walk over lunch, I shouldn't have to think, "oh but I don't want my cheeks to rub on my pants in an uncomfortable manner." No. I want to think, "it's a beautiful day. Let's go!" It doesn't need to be granny undies, or boy shorts (though those tend to bunch, anyway. I've got curves, yo). Just something that is going to do its job. This is not to say that frilly, lacy things don't have their place. They do. I just don't need them in my everyday life.

And, please don't call them panties. :)

There you go, a bit of TMI for your Thursday.

  1. How right you are! And I have always hated the term "panties", too! Who decided that was a good thing?

  2. hahahaha - great post Alex :) I suppose pants is a Brit/Irish thing …it's the preferred word for undies … I've always hated the word 'knickers' .

  4. Hey dress for comfort. I think anything else should be done on a moment to moment basis.

    1. If they made more women's underwear to actually fit right, it wouldn't be a big deal!

  7. Panties seems so girly. I'll go with underwear. Besides underwear is more precise in its description.

  9. I guess women simply do not like the term 'panties' - I just saw another A to Z blogger complain about that word. Is it really that bad?

  10. What's wrong with the term "Panties?" I prefer using it more than many others...especially "Drawls" which is a slang that many folks use in the area. I wonder if it's a city thing. Who knows?!

I like panties, undergarments, underwear, intimates...pretty much any reference that isn't too vulgar. I have met women who do go "Commando" all of the time. I would if I thought I could but I just don't fully understand how that works as a frequent habit. I mean, I can understand every now and then. But everyday? Holy smokes, that's a bit much! Ha! :)
