A to Z Challenge: Inigo

This post is part of the April A-Z Blogging Challenge. This year my theme is simply, "things I know." Some posts will be informational, some about life lessons, some about things I've learned as an author/blogger.

Inigo Montoya's dedication to accomplishing revenge for his father's death is a great model for the process of working desperately hard on something. It goes the full circle from obsessive work and fascination to that feeling of, "I don't know what to do with myself" that comes after completing a huge project. We all know that feeling, right?

He dedicated himself, learned and grew so much in the process, and then... what? He has always been one of my favorite movie characters.

What movie character have you learned from?

  2. LOVE Princess Bride and LOVE Mandy Patinkin. I actually got to see him in Evita with Patti Lupone. Wow! Guess I've learned from Luke Skywalker - keep at it and the force will eventually find you.

My favourite movie character is Mr Bean. He makes me laugh and he's very genuine, what you see is what you get. I love this quality about him. Do come over my blog at www.angiecreativeink.com/blog for a visit :)

  4. Inigo has always been one of my favorite characters. In fact, my husband and I quote him a lot. It doesn't hurt that my husband biological family is Montoya.

  5. One of my favorite movies! And one of the best challenges ever delivered in a film.

  6. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few - or the one."

"For everything there is a first time."

    "There are always possibilities."

"They like you very much, but they are not the hell your whales."

"To hunt a species to extinction is not logical."

Yup, I've learned oodles from Spock. And enjoyed nearly every moment, though that death scene still gets me decades later. Now, that's dedication!

  7. His, "Prepare to die!" line is the best. He is a great character.

  8. Live by the sword, die by the sword. Montoya sure showed him. (New Follower)

  9. This was a fun movie. Might have to take another look at it.

  11. Inigo also illustrates the old saw of "It's always darkest just before the dawn." He had largely given up hope of ever avenging his father when fate put him in the path of the Man in Black. (http://samanthadunawaybryant.blogspot.com)
