A to Z Challenge & Six Word Saturday: Exfoliation

This post is part of the April A-Z Blogging Challenge. This year my theme is simply, "things I know." Some posts will be informational, some about life lessons, some about things I've learned as an author/blogger. This post is also part of the Six Word Saturday blog hop! A chance to be a little less verbose, and use your weekend for other things. Lovely :)

Exfoliation - Key to glowingly healthy skin

This was a lesson that was difficult for young me to learn. I didn't want to scrub! Ugh! But now that I'm older, and especially since living at altitude, where everyone's skin dries out so easily, I've learned the benefits of exfoliation. I regularly get complimented on my skin, and told 'no way you're over 30!'. Exfoliation plus the oil cleansing method are my two keys to having lovely skin at altitude.
Anyone have any skin care suggestions to share?

  1. Dull, dry flaky skin... Aah! The bane of getting older. And exfoliation is the perfect answer for it! Have you tried oatmeal powder+a pinch of salt+water/olive oil? Or chick pea flour+ a pinch of turmeric+milk/water... this works well for my skin!

    1. I haven't! I will have to try those! I do have some chickpea flour I think... Do you ever add honey?

    2. I havent tried, honey, but they say that honey is a good cleanser for skin. It soak ups impurities from the pores of the skin, thereby leaving the skin clear and clean. Also it has antibacterial and antiseptic and its antioxidant properties make it capable to fight against skin damage and skin ageing!! So go on and try it :)

  2. great tip, have a nice weekend

    much love...

  3. lovely 6 words! I have no handy tips unfortunately...just saying hi from the a to z and bonjour from France http://detoutcoeurlimousin.blogspot.fr/2014/04/everyone-should-make-mistakes.html

  4. Hmmm, I should probably do that soon...

Yes absolutely AJ. Exfoliation is the key. And I guess I should start practicing it sooner.

    Might have to try that...

  8. There isn't enough creme in the world to counteract my dry skin.

  9. Drink lots of water to cleanse your body of as many toxins as possible.

  10. My younger son has sensory processing issues and is touch averse. But we've found that the ultra soft baby washcloths work well for him. (We just don't call them that because he turns 16 in May.)

I like to do facial cleansing in the shower. It seems to make the whole morning routine flow more smoothly.

  11. Hi, stopping by #a2zchallenge. I use a mild exfoliator by Clarins and it feels great, I use very little at a time and it lasts a long time, I love Witch Hazel as a toner, I also use an amazing inexpensive Japanese soap ,I am 55drink loads of water and often get compliments on my completion but I think a lot is simply lucky genes. Great choice for A to Z. I went with D for Daring to Dream and E for Egret my fave Birds ... swing by if you get a chance http://4covert2overt.blogspot.com/

  12. Mine was never dry so it was almost a benefit of ageing, until we got to the lines :(

  13. So very true….
