Six Word Saturday

Welcomed a new decade
without angst.

This week I turned 30. And.. didn't feel as freaked out about it as everyone seems to think I should have been. They say that your 20s are crazy, all over the place, figuring things out, and they definitely were that. But then your 30s, they say, are when everything fits into place, you figure out who you are and what you're about, and life really gets fun without the angst of the 20s.  My last month in my 20s was a little rough (right up to the flat tire at 9:30pm the night before my birthday), but I rather feel like it has tempered me a bit. On last bit of flame to strengthen me as I head into my new decade.

Welcome, 30. How's about we chill out for a bit?

  1. How portentious, for your 20s to end with a flat.

A few years back, I (I mean my car) ran out of gas on my 60th birthday.

I thought maybe I was "losing it", but it turned out to be a fualty gauge.

  2. Yay, 30s! My 20s were definitely about adventure and risky business. 30s turned to be pretty settled and, ugh, nose to the grindstone. Here's hoping your new decade will be one of discovery and contentment.

    1. :) Thanks, Gracie! I will probably do a ton of work in my 30s but the goal is to have it be mostly fun work. We'll see how we do!

  7. Happy Birthday! I enjoyed my 30s very much. Got married at 27, had my first at 31, my second at 34, and then was up to my elbows in bodily fluids until I turned 40. Which I welcomed with open arms. Felt like I had arrived, been given this extra authority, had lived long enough that people maybe ought to listen a bit more to my advice...yeah right. Oh well. Proud to be 47, though my dad, The Swede, loves to tease me about, "In only 3 years you can join me and mom at the 50+ luncheons!" (social gathering at our church) So 50? I think I'm thinking too much about it...
    Nice to see the badge!
